Welcome to the IFIP Secretariat, Mödling

In January 1995, the IFIP Secretariat was transferred from Geneva to Laxenburg, an elegant village comprised mainly of a baroque palace and park which lies just to the south of Vienna. The formal inauguration of the Secretariat took place on 6 July 1995.

Starting from 1 January 2025 the IFIP Secretariat moved to Mödling.

In Laxenburg, IFIP joined a small community of international organizations including IFAC (International Federation for Automatic Control} and IIASA (International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis).

In Austria, the Secretariat is supported by the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the University of Vienna – Institute of Applied Informatics, and the Austrian Computer Society (OCG).
