General Instructions for proceedings or other volumes published by the IFIP publisher

  1. All required IFIP forms for a conference must be submitted and approved before the conference proceedings can be published by the IFIP publisher. Conference organizers and chair(s) should ensure that the required forms are submitted as soon as possible to avoid delays in publication processing.
  2. The proceedings editor or other appropriate conference official should contact the publisher’s designated IFIP contact ( IFIP@springer.com ) in order to obtain cost estimates and determine possible publication schedules for publication of the proceedings in the IFIP AICT, IFIP LNBIP, or IFIP LNCS series. Note that publication in the IFIP LNBIP and  IFIP LNCS series has procedures and approval processes in addition to those for the IFIP AICT series.
  3. Pricing information also can be obtained from the IFIP Publications Officer ( ifip@ifip.org ) for preliminary planning. Note that pricing information is confidential, and pricing documents should be made available only to those who need the information for conference planning.
  4. The publisher’s contact will provide a cost estimate for the publication, or costs may be estimated from the pricing information obtained from the IFIP Secretariat.
  5. The conference officials determine whether to proceed with a print publication of the proceedings. The proceedings can be printed and distributed locally should a satisfactory arrangement not be reached with the IFIP publisher, but the use of another publisher requires the approval of the Chair of the IFIP Publications Committee.
  6. Authors must be notified of the format for papers as indicated on the publisher’s web site, and editors must prepare and submit the manuscript as specified on the web site.
  7. Note that a copyright transfer and consent to publish agreement must be completed for each paper or other separately-authored component of the publication. These must be submitted to the publisher as specified in the publisher’s instructions to volume editors.
