Technical Committee 1 (Foundation of Computer Science)
Student Award in Learning Theory
In 1997, WG1.4 (Computational Learning Theory), in cooperation with TC1 (Foundations of Computer Science), decided to award a $500 (U.S.) prize for the best student paper from a “qualifying” country at each of the three main conferences in the area. The award is intended to assist students from economically disadvantaged countries by helping to defray travel costs to attend the conferences.
Technical Committee 2 (Software: Theory and Practice)
The Manfred Paul Award
TC2 annually recognizes excellence in its area of software, theory and practice by means of an award made to an outstanding researcher. The award is made for a published paper, and consists of a prize of 1024 euros and a plaque or certificate. The award is named after the Manfred Paul, who was chairman of TC2 from 1977 to 1986 and the representative for Germany from 1973.

Informatics Olympiad Trophy
The IFIP Technical Committee on Education (TC3) presents the IFIP Trophy to the participant with the highest score in the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI). The IOI is an annual competition to foster problem-solving and programming skills and to promote international understanding and friendship among contestants from all over the world. IFIP-TC5 Fellow on Information Technology Application (ITA)
An IFIP ITA Fellow is a member recognized by the ITA community as an extraordinary contributor to the technological and educational aspects of the profession. This is a distinctive and prestigious honor that can only be earned through a documented track record of major contributions to the profession of Information Technology Application. Fellow status carries a lifetime membership in IFIP TC5.
IFIP-TC5 Outstanding Young Information Technology Application (ITA) Professional
This IFIP TC5 Award recognizes Information Technology Application Professionals, below the age 35, who have made exceptional contributions and accomplishments to Information Technology Application throughout the early stages of their career. Nominees can be chosen based on: a single outstanding accomplishment, such as a highly innovative PhD thesis, breakthrough technical publications, patents, or leadership in a technical professional society, or significant accomplishments in one or more areas of activity.

TC 6 Best Paper Award
The program committees of IFIP TC6 conferences select winners from among the submitted papers. The awards, paid from TC6 funds, help increase the visibility of TC6 events.

Namur Award
A major IFIP award, the Namur Award, is granted by the Working Group on Social Accountability (WG9.2) for an outstanding contribution to the creation of awareness of the social implications of information technology. It is presented biannually in Namur, Belgium.
Technical Committee 10 (Computer Systems Technology)
IFIP WG 10.5 Meritorious Service Award
In 2018, Working Group 10.5 on the Design and Engineering of Electronic Systems has established the IFIP WG 10.5 Meritorious Service Award to recognize a member who is an outstanding researcher and active volunteer that made continued and exceptional service to IFIP and the Working Group on Design and Engineering Systems.

The Brian Shackel Award
The Brian Shackel Award is associated with each INTERACT Conference and is to recognize the most outstanding contribution in the form of a refereed paper submitted to and delivered at the Conference. The paper should draw attention to the need for a comprehensive human-centered approach in the design and use of information technology in which the human and social implications have been considered. The Award consists of a commemorative plaque and a certificate.
IFIP TC13 Pioneer Award
The IFIP Pioneers are appointed every year to honour our greatest contributors to the development and growth in the field of human-computer interaction. An IFIP TC13 Pioneer is one who, through active participation in IFIP committees or related IFIP groups, the INTERACT conference, or other pioneering activities, has made outstanding contributions to the educational, technical, commercial or professional aspects of analysis, design, construction, evaluation and use of interactive systems. The TC13 Pioneers are recognized at the INTERACT Conference in the opening session.
IFIP TC13 Accessibility Award
The IFIP TC13 Accessibility Award is associated with each INTERACT Conference and is to recognise the most outstanding contribution of ageing, disability, and inclusive design in the form of a refereed paper submitted to and delivered at the Conference. IFIP Working Group 13.3 on HCI and Disability offers this award to draw attention to the need of information technology that considers the needs and preferences of people who are older and/or disabled. This may be in the form of an assistive technology specifically for older or disabled people, or a generic design solution that would be more usable for a wider range of people. Only one award is made for each INTERACT Conference. Only if the highest equal quality compels it will more than one Award be made. The Award consists of a commemorative certificate.
IFIP TC13 Interaction Design for International Development Award
The Interaction Design for International Development Award is associated with each INTERACT Conference and is to recognise the most outstanding contribution to the application of interactive systems for social and economic development of people in developing countries, in the form of a refereed paper submitted to and delivered at the Conference. IFIP Working Group 13.8 on Interaction Design for International Development offers this Award to highlight the need for information technology that is designed to meet the needs, values, aspirations, and preferences of people who are economically and socially marginalized throughout the world, and to draw attention to the potential of human-computer interaction to contribute to the design and delivery of such technologies. Only one award is made for each INTERACT Conference. Only if the highest equal quality compels it will more than one Award be made. The Award consists of a commemorative certificate.
IFIP TC13 Pioneers’ Award for Best Doctoral Student Paper at INTERACT
At each INTERACT Conference, the past recipients of the IFIP TC13 Pioneer Title selects the best research paper by a doctoral student submitted and accepted to the INTERACT Conference to be awarded the IFIP TC13 Pioneers’ Award for Best Doctoral Student Paper at INTERACT. The paper must be based on the doctoral research of the student, as presented/to be presented in the student’s doctoral thesis. The paper must be presented by the student him/herself at the conference. The Award consists of a commemorative certificate.
